New Year New Me?

Hi WLF, this is the first time I've ever posted / been on a weight loss forum! I've had so many failed diets in the past so thought this could be something to keep me motivated if I could post my successes (or failures).

This is potentially the worst time of year to go on a diet – what with all the Christmas selection boxes still hanging around, but I've never made a New Years resolution and I'm fed up with being fat so I may aswell give it a go.

I've struggled with my weight since I was…

Please give me some advice

I tried diet. I restricted myself to 1500 calories a day. After a year, I didn't lose a pound.

I added exorcise to the dietary restriction. 30 minutes every morning for six months. Jumping jacks, climbing stairs, running for 30 minutes every morning. I didn't lost a pound. In fact I gained five after starting to exorcise.

The only thing that finally worked was ketosis. I starved my self with only 500 calories per day. After a year I lost 30 lbs.

Now I am at 175, but if I eat even…

Climb the mountain, Alex. Just do it.

Hello lovely world. My name is Alex and I just joined the site about 20 minutes ago. Naturally, I ended up on the diary section first, because I am somewhat nosy and I like to hear about other people's experiences.

First of all, let me break down where I am at.
Height: 5'7"
CW: 209
HW: 215
LW: 120
GW: 125 (hopefully by next December–one year from now)

Essentially, I plan to eat whole foods (mostly plant-based), to go to the gym/move my body at least 5 times a week, and to be grateful…

My Journey to weight loss

Hello,

I am starting a journey to loosing weight and living a healthier life style for good. I am an obese and only 24 years old which is depressing as I am only young, and I have been obese for the majority of my life. Despite going on endless diets, slimming world, weight watchers, juice diets etc. I have even resorted to a medication which all that made me do is stain my underwear (I know too much information but its the truth).

Its hard losing weight I have tried in the past and…

Hey there

Hi, how's it going? I found this forum while looking for a community to be part of. Since I'm interested in having a healthy lifestyle I thought this might be a good idea.
I've always had problems with my diet and the worst thing is that I only recognized them recently (better late than never, I guess).
I am not overweight, however I hate it when I binge (and sadly I do it often) so hopefully I'll be able to fix that during the time that I spend here. I used to work out quite a lot this…

Why am I gaining weight

Hi there,

I am really struggling with my weight at the moment I do not understand where the weight is coming from. I have recently changed jobs from a sedentary job to a job where I average walking 10 miles per day (5times a week) Over a 7 hour period. This is in the peak district and often involves a lot of hill walking.

I am 25 years old female and 5ft tall. I did weigh 7.7 stone (105lbs) and I now weigh 8.1 stone (113LB)

I am trying to cut carbohydrates out but can not successfully do…

Obese teen needs diet advice

I am a teenager and I have really severe depression and anxiety. Over the past few years it has caused me to gain a lot of weight. My weight fluctuates a lot, one week it could be 260 and a week later it is 240. I was on a 1600 calorie diet for over a month a while ago and I didn't lose a pound, recently I have been eating whatever I want (recently I have had a pretty bad depressive episode), and I didn't gain a pound either. I live a pretty sedentary lifestyle because my anxiety makes me…

A tip

My BMI hovers around 18, so the last thing in the world I need to do is lose weight. I just wanted to post a suggestion to those trying to cut down on their eating. I eat a lot of steel cut oats, and it's amazing to me how it fills you up and stays with you. After eating a bowl of steel cut oats you will feel full for hours. I occasionally eat a little too much, and when I do I don't even like to think about food for several hours. Good luck to every one…
