Changing (my) heart and mind

Hello forum,

This is my first diary post! I'm on here for support and to hear what works and doesn't work for people, knowing that we are all differently abled and motivated. So here's the skinny (so to speak) on me:

I'm coming up on my 40th birthday, have 2 small kids, and am struggling with obesity. I'm a 6' tall woman. My body really changed after my second child 3 years ago as a woman of "advanced maternal age" – worst term ever. I never really carried my weight around the middle, but…

Cory's Quest for a Healthier Life

Hello everyone. I joined this morning and have decided to make a diary here. It seems to help a lot of people, so I figured I'd give it a shot. It's been two weeks since I started my journey. Weighed myself this weekend and found that I put on three pounds; however, I'm not going to let it get me down because it's my time of the month and I have always been bad about retaining water. Going to the gym tonight. I've been alternating pilates and zumba for the time being. I figure I can…

OneEyedJack's Zero Sugar Journey

I posted in the Club forum a thread called The Zero Sugar Club. Basically that is where I intend to post a log of my daily weight and what I ate that day.
I have a goal of losing 30 pounds by April 1, 2018. I think the hardest thing about this is just making choices. When I get real busy I tend to not make good food choices…which is one reason I gained 30 lbs.

I know for some of you here 30 lbs doesn't seem to be a lot….but to me it is…I'm sick of it. I just am not going to be…

FGs Crossfit Adventure

Time to retire the old thread from 5 years back and come up with new goals.

https://weight-loss.fitness.com/threads/weight-loss-journey-for-feeling-gooder.52971/

I've bounced around a lot over the past 5 years with periods of focus and activity mixed with many less than productive periods. I've completed two half marathons spent periods cycling, swimming, obstacle course racing, completed a mini triathlon, played recreational basketball and lots of time doing little to no…

I have no idea where to start

Hello from Indiana. I'm a newcomer. I want to give a brief backstory and explain my current situation. I'm hoping people here can provide me with some useful advice. This can all be very overwhelming.

I weigh about 180 pounds and I'm 5 foot 5. I have kind of an apple body type as in, I carry most of my weight in my stomach. I'm very self-conscious about it. Even when I was skinny, I always had a belly and a roll when I sat down. Now that I've gained weight and lost it only it again, I don't…

My diary (keto + intermittent fasting)

Hello everyone,

I'm currently 25, 187cm tall, living in Germany and new here on this site, but I already tried to loose weight a for a while now. But now I feel the need to share my experiences and interim successes. This all started with me buying a scale and then seeing 130kg on it. That was only a very rough check on a not so optimal (read: soft) ground for the scale and with full clothing, but it still me shocked quite a bit and got me started. My actual first logged measurement was…

One part of being the best that I can be

I'm a little late to the party on round-ups for the new year. Not to say that keeping a diary on here has ever been far from my mind… ;)

I started 2017 weighing 10 stone 12 pounds – the fattest I had ever been. I was stressed with juggling University, full-time work, placements and finding a house all at the same time.

I finished 2017 weighing 9 stone 9 1/2 pounds, a homeowner, and achieved a distinction on my University course :)

I learned some valuable lessons on the way. I still…

Need advice on where to start

Hi, I m 5ft5 for 191 pounds. At 40 years old, female, I am currently at my heaviest and I seriously need to lose weight. However, I live far from towns and I hate driving ( no buses where I live). I also work around 60 to 70 hours a week. So I would like to do some exercises at home to get me started. I suffer from a lung condition that makes me breathless very quickly but I also know that it can get better if I get fitter. I also suffer from chronic back pain that limits my movements but it…
